SEEING FIRST HAND WCF’S IMPACT
I recently had the opportunity to travel to Jordan as part of my first trip with WCF to meet some of the beneficiaries of our COVID Food/Hygiene relief and medical ministry projects. I only started working with WCF in June, so I did not know quite what to expect. Not only was this my first trip with WCF, but this was also my first trip to the Middle East. A place I had seen and heard so much about throughout my life.
REHAB FOR DISABLED PATIENTS IN IRAQ
Since 2015 Operation Mercy in the Kurdish Region of Iraq has been operating a community based rehabilitation (CBR) project for Syrian refugees and Iraqi internally displaced people. In 2020 we operated in 7 camps. This project has been serving 75 families who have someone with a disability that needs physical or occupational therapy.
UPDATE FROM PAKISTAN RE: COVID-19
Since the start of the COVID crisis, WCF has provided a one month's supply of COVID Relief Food & Hygiene Supplies to more than 10,000 people in Pakistan in partnership with our field ministries. A number of families expressed their thanks for the help they've received.
LEBANON MEDICAL LIFE CENTER - 2 YEAR UPDATE
World Compassion Fellowship launched two permanent Medical Life Centers (“LC”) in Beirut, and North Lebanon, in partnership with field ministries, the Harold C Smith Foundation (“HCSF”) and our funding supporters. These are two strategic areas for treating large communities of Syrian and Iraqi war refugees since the Syrian Civil War and the Iraqi conflicts began.
LEBANON RELIEF AND REBUILDING
On August 4th, a massive explosion caused extensive damage throughout Beirut with countless homes, schools and churches severely damaged. Two hundred people died, several thousand people were injured and more than 300,000 people were left with damaged homes or completely homeless. It's frankly a miracle that more didn't perish.
