Turkey Earthquake Update

On Feb 6, 2023, 2 major earthquakes struck the border area of Turkey, killing more than 53,000 people. More than 1.9 million people were left homeless and more than 200,000 buildings were destroyed or severely damaged. WCF immediately contacted our main partners in Turkey and were able to provide relief help to the people in this country.

Our partners in Turkey mobilized volunteers from all around the country and from the USA, China, Germany and others.

Preparing Hot Meals

In April, I was able to make an onsite visit in Turkey where we visited cities such as Besni, Adiyaman, Antakya and Iskenderun. We spent the most time in Antakya which was the most devastated city. Our partner had setup multiple tents to provide hot meals, food, water and clothes distribution and temporary volunteer housing.

Serving Hot Meals

Now, we are in process of creating a Life Center that includes supplying clean drinking water and boxed non-perishable food and teaching English, arts and music.

Community Meeting

Thank you for standing with our friends as they minister to those who lost so much in the earthquake.

God bless,
Jerry
