Medical Mission to Nepal
WCF mobilized its last mobile medical team of the year by taking a team to Nepal. WCF provides technical support to a Medical Life Center which is a small hospital located in a remote area of the country.
We were able to mobilize medical volunteers from the US to combine together with our Nepal medical team to conduct clinics at 4 different communities where we served 945 patients. It was a logistical challenge, but we managed to come together as one body alongside our Nepali family to bless the people.
We conducted our first clinic at a health center on the outskirts of a mid-sized city. We were given an official welcome by the mayor and other government officials. We were able to use a portable x-ray machine for the first time which greatly expanded our diagnostic capabilities which was a blessing.
The 2nd clinic was conducted in a remote village area where our Medical Life Center is located. The founder and director of the hospital is Dr Shiva who has an amazing testimony of how he grew up in an Untouchable caste and then excelled in education and became a doctor. He had many opportunities to leave his hometown to make considerably more money in the big city or out of the country, but when he became a Christian, he chose to stay and started a humble health center that grew into a hospital which WCF provides technical support.
One of our team members was also a surgeon and he was able to perform minor surgery in the Operating Room here.
We conducted other clinics in partnership with local churches where we ministered to the people holistically for both body and spirit. Many people asked for prayer for their challenging situations.
It's been a privilege to be able to minister in the most under-served areas around the world, such as in Nepal. As followers of Jesus, we appreciate the opportunity to minister to people of all faiths as an expression of our own faith. God has given us a heart to love all people.
Blessings,
WCF Team
