Update on Brick Kiln Family Relocation

A few weeks ago, we let you know of a terrible situation involving a family in a brick kiln where the eldest daughter 'Naomi' (name changed) was assaulted and nearly raped by a group of men. Her father intervened and they were both severely beaten. We have seen the disturbing video of the aftermath as she was unconscious and taken to the hospital.

Thanks to your help, our Life Center partners were able to pay off her family's debt to the brick kiln owners and moved her to another village where her relatives live.

We found a place to rent, but the family have been so traumatized that they haven't felt safe yet to leave her relatives' small home despite the crowding. Naomi and her mother have been crying every day as they have been severely traumatized.

We discussed some future ideas to help the family such as purchasing a small home so they don't have to worry about being evicted which has been common against minority groups. We also want to buy a rickshaw for the father to earn money for the family. We are trying to determine the best course of action and the costs of these ideas. But we wanted to keep you informed and for you to pray with us for her family. Many other families in this country are sadly facing similar situations especially for their daughters who are defenseless.
