Life Center: Medical Services
WCF is committed to improving healthcare in Kenya by sponsoring free mobile medical clinics, organizing healthcare seminars, and providing continuing medical education for local professionals.
Kenya faces various healthcare challenges, including limited access to medical services, inadequate healthcare infrastructure, and a high burden of preventable diseases. The country's healthcare system struggles to meet the needs of its population, particularly in rural and remote areas where healthcare facilities and trained medical professionals are scarce.
Addressing these healthcare challenges is crucial for the well-being and prosperity of Kenyan communities.
Life Center: Job Skills Training
In Kenya, WCF spearheads initiatives to foster economic development, particularly among small business owners and entrepreneurs, as the nation shifts towards a service-oriented economy. Through Business Seminars/Mentorship and English classes, local entrepreneurs gain essential skills in entrepreneurship, business planning, budgeting, marketing, customer service, risk management, and business ethics.
Despite progress, Kenya faces economic challenges. A significant portion of the population lives in poverty, with many struggling to meet basic needs. High unemployment rates further exacerbate these challenges, with poor infrastructure and a lack of technical and managerial skills hindering business growth.
By empowering local entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge, Kenya aims to stimulate economic growth, create job opportunities, and improve livelihoods for its citizens.
Background
Drought in Kenya has reached critical levels and millions in the arid and semi-arid regions have been affected by the lack of water and food, whose survival for the majority Maasai community depends on farming and livestock. The drought has also led to educational disruptions, with many children forced to leave school to support their families amid increasing hunger and malnutrition.
