How We Help

Education sponsorships play a crucial role in addressing the needs of the persecuted and the impoverished, enabling these individuals to overcome the barriers they face in accessing education. These families typically cannot afford quality education and are forced to give up on college or University and take menial jobs.

WCF identifies members of persecuted families that have motivation and abilities, but lack the funds and opportunities to advance their education. WCF provides them with sponsorships on an annual basis with possibility of renewals. WCF has provided individuals from Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt with scholarships in the past.

Background

Persecuted communities in the region face many challenges that make it hard to meet basic needs and escape poverty. They often experience discrimination, violence, job loss, and persecution because of their beliefs or minority status. These problems make it difficult for them to access education and learn the skills needed for better jobs.

On top of this, systemic discrimination, political instability, and social exclusion create even more barriers to education. Many of these issues come from ethnic, religious, or political differences, which increase inequalities and limit opportunities for learning.
