and Persecuted

The recent protracted multilayered conflicts in the Middle East region have all caused a surge of millions of refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) throughout the region to settle into displacement camps or dense, poor urban areas in surrounding countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Syria.

The humanitarian and medical needs of the refugees have overwhelmed the already poor healthcare systems in these countries. In places like Lebanon, the entire economy has collapsed leaving the previously middle-class Lebanese almost as poor as the refugees.

These great needs have opened the door to a great opportunity to show the love and compassion of Christ to the Majority Religion peoples in this region. Many have become disillusioned with religion and become open to Jesus in a new way. When they encounter Christians providing medical or dental care with compassion and unconditional love, their hearts are moved and become open to the Good News.

The following are the region-specific services offered in our Life Centers based on community needs:

• Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics, Family Medicine
• Emergency and surgery assistance
• Health educational programs (hygiene, nutrition, infectious diseases, and other health and wellness programs)
• Job Skills Training (English, Computer, Sewing, Business, Management, etc)
• Character, Leadership and Spiritual Development Training
• Educational and Food/Nutrition Sponsorship Programs
• Hosting of Bible studies, church services and other ministry programs

Our Life Centers also serve the Persecuted Church such as those in Pakistan where many Christians face systemic oppression and threats. Our Medical team travels bi-weekly to brick kilns to serve those living in slave-like conditions.

WCF also aims to equip individuals with the job skills they need to support themselves and their communities. We anticipate most of our students will be young adults, youth and/or professionals, who are typically the most eager to learn and most open to faith discussions. Our students experience the love of Christ through our job skills classes and this allows our Field Workers to build relationships in and out of the classrooms with the students and their families.
